Connectors and data types
Bring in the subsurface data you already have. Each connector says what it reads and writes, and each conversion states what it loses.
For people whose data lives in files, databases and desktop applications today.
- Partial Connectors with fidelity reports
- Partial Well logs, tops, trajectories, surfaces and point sets
- Partial Faults and seismic sections
- Coming Configurable scientific ingestion
Key features
- Capability documents
- Every connector publishes what it reads and writes; the Workspace shows those words.
- Fidelity reports
- A conversion that drops or changes something says so.
- Change detection
- A connected PostgreSQL wells table is checked for changes; you refresh explicitly.
- Originals kept
- The original file is retained with the version created from it.
- Declared context
- Units, depth reference and coordinate system are declared, never guessed.
- Host tools
- OpendTect and QGIS connect from your own computer with your own sign-in.
Connectors

How it works
- Choose a file or an approved source.
- Inspect what the connector found and declare what it cannot know.
- Keep it: the original and an exact version with its context.
Technical details
Connectors run either in the gateway (files, approved SQL sources) or on your computer (OpendTect, QGIS), and publish through the same routes as everything else.
Not yet, and not planned
- Connectors with fidelity reports: QGIS host acceptance on macOS is not yet complete
- Well logs, tops, trajectories, surfaces and point sets: Shapefile import, explicit coordinate transformation and true-vertical-depth tracks are not yet available
- Faults and seismic sections: Slice reads only; whole-volume streaming is not available
Coming Configurable scientific ingestion: Source packages with companions, versioned import recipes, Petrel points-with-attributes and OpendTect horizon readers.
Not planned: suite-wide petrel or techlog replacement; a general application builder or marketplace; universal format conversion.
